The Error Index Button: A Special Case
|
Previous Top Next |
The Error Index button should
be used with care as it could easily be deemed
by some students to be nothing more than a catalogue of failings. It is
recommended that if you use this button, that you reserve its use for papers by
students who are open-minded and confident. Also, please be sure to balance
your critique with praise.
On the other hand, you as the instructor may want to use the index to help you
get an overall sense of how a student has performed before making your final
comments. Once you've seen the index, it is easily deleted.
The Error Index button works by cataloguing hidden codes in each of the
(negative) comments and displaying them in a neat and tidy, two- column index
at the bottom of the paper.
